Englewood Arts offers a variety of programs for the enjoyment
and education of the community.

Back to Bach. This popular concert enters its seventh season. Musicians from the Colorado Symphony Orchestra collaborate with other local artists to present a full program of Bach compositions. The concert is presented each year in as a celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach and his music.

Chamber Music Series. A series of concerts Hampden Hall features musical groups from around the Metro area. The 2007-8 series includes ten concerts, beginning in September and scheduled through June. The series includes several afternoon programs and two theatre productions by msi Theatre Productions under the direction of Jerry Schell.  In December, 2007, a special performance of Gifts of the Magi will be presented for the holidays.

National Juried Art Show. The National Juried Art Show will exhibit for its sixth year in 2008. This annual event brings the work of visual artists from around the country to Englewood.  Artists may enter at the Art Show page on this website.

Hampden Hall. March, 2005, was the opening of this performance theatre at Englewood CityCenter,  This is the location for the Concert Series and the National Juried Art Show.  Hampden Hall is available to other organizations by contacting Carol McGuigan with the City of Englewood.

Strings Attached. This program of music instruction has expanded from its beginning in two elementary schools in the fall of 2002 to now includes five elementary schools in the Englewood District. Several hundred Englewood children have received instruction in violin and cello through this program.

Art Reaching Kids (ARK). A full day of art-related activities focuses on themes chosen by the participating schools. Activities include music workshops, classes in clay, painting and dance. During the 2003-2004 school year, fourteen ARK days were experienced by 730 students. Participating organizations are Up Close and Musical, David Taylor Dance Theatre and the Museum of Outdoor Arts.

Curriculum Specials. The Up Close and Musical Ensemble and other Englewood Arts artists collaborate with Englewood elementary schools in designing and presenting a multi-disciplined art show and performance. All students at the school become involved. The theme each year is determined by the participating school. This program has completed its fourth year.

U S Department of Education Programs. Englewood Arts and the Englewood Public Schools have partnered in two programs funded by Department of Education grants. Just completed was the PEAK program which integrated art activities with academic instruction in the elementary schools. Entering its second year is the New Frontiers program which focuses on integrating arts and math instruction at the middle school level. These grants provided the students of Englewood with miriade experiences, including the ARK days and artists' residency programs.

Art Classes. Classes in a variety of art disciplines have been provided to Englewood elementary and middle-school children. Past classes have included clay, printing and paper-making.  Artists-in-Residence provide classes in recorder and keyboards.
